Fitment Notes

If your Invacare wheelchair was made after 11/16/09 and came with the 24 inch wheel option and a pyramid tire, you will see the model "U2222C" printed on the side of your existing tire. The Invacare internal part number is 1118209. Prior to 11/16/09, Invacare used this tire (similar but without cords embedded into the urethane - Invacare part 1080400). The list of wheelchairs from Invacare that came with this tire are as follows:

  • Invacare 9000 SL
  • Invacare 9000 XDT
  • Invacare 9000 XT
  • Invacare Patriot
  • Invacare Tracer EX2
  • Invacare Tracer IV
  • Invacare Tracer SX5

Please know some of the Invacare wheelchairs listed above came with different size wheels and tires, so make sure yours came with the 24" option and is the pyramid design tire as pictured above and was manufactured after 11/16/09.

Installation Notes
Installing these tires onto a wheelchair rim can be very challenging without the proper tools. This is because the tire itself is smaller than the wheelchair rim and needs to be stretched onto the rim. If you do not have the ability or the tools to properly install these tires, it is advisable to seek professional help.

If you have a properly mounted bench vise, you can purchase a solid tire installation tool which can be found on these pages:

If you have questions about which wheelchair tire to purchase, how to determine the correct wheelchair tire size, or have an installation question, see our Buying Guide for Wheelchair and Scooter Tires.
