This bearing is commonly used is many caster wheels and fork mounts. Your existing bearing should have one of these alpha numeric numbers stamped on the shield of the bearing: 1607ZZ, 1607Z, 1607RS or 16072RS. It may fit other wheelchairs or scooters needing the same size or with one of these reference numbers.

This bearing is also useful when wanting to change your 5/16" inner diameter bearing (bearing reference 1605RS) to 7/16" inner diameter. The thickness and outer diameter of this bearing are the same as the 1605RS bearing.

General Wheelchair and Scooter Bearing Notes:
Many bearings found on wheelchairs and scooters have an alpha numeric reference or just a numeric reference number stamped on the side of the bearing which refers to the type and size of the bearing. In most cases, that is all you need to purchase the correct bearing. For alpha numeric reference numbers ending in Z, ZZ, RS, or 2RS, they are all interchangeable (Z and ZZ refer to a metal outer side shield and RS and 2RS refer to a rubber outer side shield protecting the balls inside the bearing). If your bearing has no reference on it, you will have to measure. If the bearing reference appears worn off, you may be able to see it stamped on the other side. Click the "Fitment" tab for more information on how to identify or measure your bearing.

Most wheelchair bearings are replaceable. Knowing the size of the bearing, reference number, and type of bearing can help you identify a replacement. When measuring your bearing, measure the following and compare it to the product description:

  • Outer Diameter
  • Inner Diameter
  • Width
  • Bearing reference number
